a court of thorns and roses

Sarah J. Maas, you are brilliant!

so i'm a bit nervous of writing my very first book review, but let's just give this a try shall we?
I'm obsessed with this book. The cover is beautiful, the book itself is just brilliantly written. I feel like Sarah J Maas knows what I look for in a book. This isn't just your regular Young Adult book. I feel like this one belongs in the category New Adult. It's more like fantasy for adults with a few sexy scenes written in it.
I'm not shy on those scenes, I feel like it added a certain je ne sais quoi to the book.
I love the characters in it, Fyre a young girl that has had to hunt to feed her family. She has balls bigger than some man in my eyes.
Then there is Tamlin, who I thought to be a real gentlemen.
Rhysand, thank god I know how he will be in the next book because he sure acted as an absolute ass in this book. I felt like this book captured the emotions really well off the characters and I feel like Sarah has grown a lot with her writing since the Throne of glass series.

Here is a little summary:

Feyre's survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price ...

Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre's presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.

If I could rate this book, I would give this a 4/5, so pick it up next time you see it in a bookshop, it's most definitely worth the money!
